I went on a ride really early this morning and then had to go to an orthodontist appointment. When I got back from the appointment, I was super hungry. Of course, I decided on waffles this morning because you can never go wrong with waffles. What better post ride breakfast than some protein waffles?
I was in a bit of a dilemma at first trying to figure out what flavor of waffles I wanted. At first I thought about making cinnamon roll waffles, but I realized that I have already made them. Then I was gonna make some reese’s waffles but realized I have made those too. So, I finally decided on maple cinnamon waffles.
For the waffles, I used cinnamon bun combat powder, ground cinnamon, and maple extract to give them that delicious maple cinnamon flavor. Of course you could always use a little less milk in the batter and add some maple syrup to sweeten it and give even more maple flavor.Ā
For the delicious toppings, I made a maple peanut butter sauce. I used peanut flour to make it a little less fat, but regular peanut butter would work just fine. After adding the peanut butter sauce, I chopped up a cinnamon combat bar and added it as well. To finish it all off, I had to add a drizzle of maple syrup!
