A thick, creamy bowl of birthday cake protein oatmeal topped with healthy vanilla protein frosting makes for the perfect healthy breakfast, pre-workout or post-workout meal.
Add oats and milk to a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for about 1:30. Stir, microwave again for another 30 seconds to 1 minute to finish cooking. Add a little more milk if you like your oatmeal thinner, as this recipe makes the oatmeal a bit thicker.
Once cooked, stir in protein powder, sprinkles, and butter extract.
Mix birthday cake frosting ingredients in a separate bowl. Top oatmeal with frosting. Add a few extra sprinkles on top and enjoy.
Notes
*I cook the oats in almond milk to make them a bit creamier, but you can use water or any preferred milk. **Optional, but it gives it a really delicious, rich, buttery cake flavor!
