Brownies are probably one of my favorite desserts of all time. Not going to lie, the chocolate part has a lot to do with it. I’m not sure there is anything better than chocolate. Oh yeah, and peanut butter. This recipes for chocolate peanut butter protein brownies has both so I was in heaven for a few days until I ate all of them!
Like a lot of my protein brownie recipes, I used black beans in these. I know, it sounds weird. Who the heck would want beans in their brownies? But trust me, you don’t taste them at all. They take the place of flour (lower carb and gluten free), add extra protein and fiber too.
The inspiration for these chocolate peanut butter protein brownies came from my deep love for all things chocolate and peanut butter. Of course, with the Macro1 Nutrition ONE Protein in chocolate brownie flavor, these brownies were next level.

There is peanut butter and cocoa powder in the brownies (they couldn’t be chocolate peanut butter protein brownies without it!) Then, for maximum flavor, I also added some chocolate chips on top before I baked them. After baking, I spread all the melted chocolate over top. Finally, I did a nice drizzle of some melted, creamy peanut butter. Mmmm I am salivating just thinking about them.
The only sad part is that even though I am writing this shortly after making these, I have already managed to eat all of them! Ahh it makes me kind of sad. I guess I will just have to make another batch ASAP!

Description
These chocolate peanut butter protein brownies are absolutely amazing with their fudgy texture, fiber, and decadent chocolate peanut butter flavor.
Ingredients
Brownies
- 1 can black beans (drained and rinsed well)
- 2 scoops Macro1 Nutrition ONE Protein, chocolate brownie
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup Truvia sweetener*
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup natural creamy peanut butter
- 2 whole eggs
- 1/4 cup coconut oil (melted (or canola/olive oil))
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Toppings
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (or semi-sweet)
- 2 tbsp. peanut butter (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375F.
- Add all brownie ingredients to a food processor or powerful blender. Food processor works best! Blend until a thick, smooth batter forms. Make sure the beans are completely blended and no large pieces left.
- Line a 6×9 inch glass baking dish with foil. Spray with nonstick spray. Spoon brownie batter into the dish. Spread evenly with a spoon. Sprinkle the top with 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips. Press slightly into the batter.
- Bake at 375 for about 25 minutes. Check at 20 minutes because ovens may vary and you don’t want to over-bake and dry out. Center will be slightly under done, but it makes them gooey and delicious.
- Once baked, use a spoon to spread melted chocolate chips evenly over top of the brownies. Add 2 tbsp. of melted peanut butter to a small plastic bag. Cut the end off. Use bag to pipe/drizzle peanut butter over top of brownies.
- Cut into 10 brownies and enjoy!
Notes
*Truvia is a stevia/sugar blend. It has less sugar than regular granulated sugar, but still bakes like sugar. It can be found in your local grocery. If you don’t have it/can’t find it at your grocery, you can just use 3/4 cup regular granulated sugar instead.
