I have really been on a waffle kick lately. Maybe because they are easy, or maybe because they are so delicious. Either way, I’m not mad about it. These are some Berry Protein Waffles. They are quite berry flavored, so I hope you guys like berries!
There is berry protein powder, berries in the waffle batter, and a delicious berry compote on top. They taste good on their own, but really the berry compote on top made them next level. It adds a nice berry flavored syrup element to them.
I actually used some syrup to make the compote. I heated blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries in a pan with a couple tablespoons of REAL maple syrup. None of that fake, high fructose corny syrup stuff here.
The berry protein I used in this recipe is some BSN Syntha-6 protein in a flavor called Berry Berry Berry Good. And, let me tell you, it is berry good (sorry for the pun!). So, with the berry protein, berries on top, and berries in the batter (if desired), you aren’t going to find a more berry themed protein waffle recipe.
Oh! I almost forgot about one of the best parts of these. I totally put a nice dollop of whipped cream on there. Berries and whipped cream are the perfect combination, and the creaminess completed this recipe perfectly! I hope you love these berry protein waffles as much as I did.

Description
Fluffy, mixed berry protein waffles topped with a healthy and delicious berry compote to make the perfect, protein-packed waffle recipe.
Ingredients
Waffles
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 scoop Berry Berry Berry Good Syntha-6 protein powder
- 1/3 cup cottage cheese*
- 1 whole egg
- 2 tbsp. Milk (any milk is fine)
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- mixed berries**
- Cinnamon to taste
Berry Compote
- 1/2 cup mixed berries (blueberries, blackberries, raspberries)
- 2 tbsp. maple syrup
- whipped cream (optional topping)
Instructions
- Preheat waffle iron to medium/high heat.
- Add all waffle ingredients to a blender. Blend until a smooth batter is formed. Fold in some blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries if desired.
- Spray waffle iron with non-stick spray. Pour batter into waffle iron to make 4 waffles. Cook for about 4 minutes or until golden brown.
- To make the berry compote, preheat a pan to medium heat. Add 1/2 cup mixed berries and maple syrup to the pan. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the berries start to break down and the mixture thickens.
- Once waffles are done cooking, top with berry compote and whipped cream if desired.
Notes
*Instead of cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, canned pumpkin, or applesauce can be used. However, it will change the macros slightly!
**I added some berries to the waffle batter for some extra berry flavor. You can skip this and just do the berry compote on top if desired.
